A gentler way to fire

We have been quietly taking some unnecessary machinery out of the firing process.

The new path is meant to be simple: make a firing plan, tell us the useful bits about what is coming by, get a reasonable sense of the kiln space it may need, and drop it off when it is safe to travel. We will look it over before it goes in. Then the kiln gets its turn to have an opinion.

The billing part has changed, too. Rather than asking anyone to settle up before we know what the kiln actually held, we now send a Stripe payment link after the firing. The final charge reflects the kiln space your work actually used.

That means the estimate is what it ought to be: a useful heads-up, not a tiny contract disguised as a calculator. If something goes sideways on the studio side, you do not pay for that firing.

Drop-offs and pickups can stay quiet and uncomplicated. If you would rather not make a whole social event out of leaving a box of work, we understand. Standard firings are designed so you can come by, do the handoff, and get on with your day.

Monsoon Fire is a community resource for people who need access to a kiln. We are not trying to turn attention into an advertising product or build a maze around a basic studio service. Mostly, we exist because artists tell other artists where they found a useful place.
